Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea in the comfort of the Lord: "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice." Ephesians 4:31
Learn to listen to Me even while you are listening to other people. As they open their souls to your scrutiny, you are on holy ground. You need the help of My Spirit to respond appropriately. Ask Him to think through you, live through you, love through you. My own Being is alive within you in the Person of the Holy Spirit. If you respond to others' needs through your unaided thought processes, you offer them dry crumbs. When the Spirit empowers your listening and speaking, My streams of living water flow through you to other people. Be a channel of My Love, Joy, and Peace by listening to Me as you listen to others.

I CONTINUALLY CALL YOU
Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord: "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice." Ephesians 4:31
I continually call you to closeness with Me. I know the depth and breadth of your need for Me. I can read the emptiness of your thoughts when they wander away from Me. I offer rest for your soul, as well as refreshment for your mind and body. As you increasingly find fulfillment in Me, other pleasures become less important. Knowing Me intimately is like having a private wellspring of Joy within you. This spring flows freely from My throne of grace, so your Joy is independent of circumstances.
Waiting in My Presence keeps you connected to Me, aware of all that I offer you. If you feel any deficiency, you need to refocus your attention on Me. This is how you trust Me in the moments of your life.

Flirting With The World
Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord: "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice." Ephesians 4:31
How dangerous it is when our souls are gasping for God but we’re too distracted flirting with the world to notice. Flirting will give you brief surges of fun feelings but will never really pull you in and hold you close. Indeed, the world entices your flesh but never embraces your soul. All the while, the only love caring enough to embrace us and complete enough to fill us, waits.
He waits every day with every answer we need, every comfort we crave, every affection we’re desperate for, while we look everywhere else but at Him. The gaps are filled. The heartache is eased. The provision is ready. The needs are met. The questions are answered. The problems are solved.
Fully.
Completely.
Perfectly.
In Him. With Him. By Him.
We just have to turn to Him. And sit with Him. No matter what. Even if our toes are bloody from the constant wear and tear of desperately running to Him. Get to Him daily.
How it must break His heart when we walk around so desperate for a love He waits to give us each and every day.

Trust And Worry
Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord: "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice." Ephesians 4:31
"I will put my trust in him."
Hebrews 2:13
Remember always that there are two things which are more utterly incompatible even than oil and water, and these two are trust and worry. Can you call it trust, when you have given the saving and keeping of your soul into the hands of the Lord, if day after day you are spending hours of anxious thought and questionings about the matter? When a believer really trusts anything, he ceases to worry about the thing he has trusted. And when he worries, it is a plain proof that he does not trust. Tested by this rule, how little real trust there is in the Church of Christ! No wonder our Lord asked the pathetic question, "When the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?" He will find plenty of work, a great deal of earnestness, and doubtless many consecrated hearts, but shall He find faith, the one thing He values more than all the rest? Every child of God, in his own case, will know how to answer this question. Should the answer, for any of you, be a sorrowful No, let me entreat you to let this be the last time for such an answer; and if you have ever known anything of the trustworthiness of our Lord, may you henceforth set to your seal that He is true, by the generous recklessness of your trust in Him!

Pacing
Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord: "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice." Ephesians 4:31
"My soul, wait thou only upon God."
Psalm 62:5
The doctor's office is not my favorite spot to spend a sunny spring morning. But that's exactly where I spent this one. It helped, though, that there was a sunny-faced little boy to watch. This blond, wide-eyed preschooler completely captivated me and everyone else with his eagerness to experience everything a doctor's waiting room could offer.
He checked out the chairs and their occupants. He covered his baby sister with her checked blanket and tenderly explained that there was no need to be afraid. He marched down the hall to explore the bathroom, and a roomful of weary patients' eyes lit with amusement as his giggle echoed from behind the door. Perhaps he's discovered he was finally tall enough.
Eventually, when he'd exausted the room's possibilities, he announced with finality, "I'm tired of this place now. Let's go, Mommy."
"We have to wait, honey," she said.
"But I'm ready to go. Let's get out of here!"
He didn't really understand that he was waiting there for a purpose, his good health.
Lord, sometimes You put me in Your waiting rooms. Help me to be patient with Your schedule. I need to learn all I can from those waiting rooms, but I should never forget that I must remain there until I see You. It's absolutely essential to my health.

"Take Up Thy Bed"
Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord: "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice." Ephesians 4:31
" . . . Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk." Mark 2:9
A man in great misery of soul, not knowing which way to turn, was wandering one evening along a country lane in England. He continued walking until at length, completely exhausted, he decided to rest for a few moments beside a nearby hedge. As he sat there, he heard two girls talking on the other side. They were speaking to one another about a sermon which they heard in a London church. One of them said of the pastor, "I heard him preach just once, but it gave me a big spiritual lift. I shall never forget one thing in particular that he said." The other girl asked what it was that the preacher had presented which had so greatly stirred her. The other replied that in speaking of the paralytic and his marvelous cure, as recorded in Mark 2, the minister had declared, "The world will always say, "You made your bed, and you must lie on it'; but One greater than the world has said, 'Take up thy bed and walk, thy sins are forgiven.'"
The troubled and despairing man on the other side of the hedge heard these gracious words, and through it the Holy Spirit lifted the shadow from his soul.
To every burdened one who finds forgiveness through grace, Jesus in effect says the same today: "Take up your bed - take up your cross; and then bear your burden graciously as you walk in My strength!"
If you are troubled today, and much encumbered with a load of care, heed Jesus' gracious command and "Take up thy bed and walk!"

Psalm 31
Come, sit, and and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord: "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice." Ephesians 4:31
1. In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.
2. Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defense (fortress)to save me.
3. For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.
4. Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou art my strength.
5. Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.
6. I have hated them that regard lying vanities (vain idols): but I trust in the Lord.
7. I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities;
8. And hast not shut (given me over) me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large room (wide place).
9. Have mercy upon me, O Lord, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, you, my soul and my belly.
10. For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed (waste away).
11. I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did see me outside fled from me.
12. I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.
13. For I have heard the slander of many; fear was on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.
14. But I trusted in thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my God.
15. My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.
16. Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: save me for thy mercies' sake.
17. Let me not be ashamed, O Lord; for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave.
18. Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.
19. Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee, which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!
20. Thou shalt hide them in the secret of my presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
21. Blessed be the Lord: for he hath shewed me his marvelous kindness in a strong city.
22. For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes: nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee.
23. O love the Lord, all ye his saints: for the Lord preserveth the faithful and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.
24. Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.

COME TO ME CONTINUALLY...
Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord: "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice." Ephesians 4:31
COME TO ME CONTINUALLY. I am meant to be the Center of your consciousness, the Anchor of your soul. Your mind will wander from Me, but the question is how far you allow it to wander. An anchor on a short rope lets a boat drift only slightly before the taut line tugs the boat back toward the center. Similarly, as you drift away from Me, My Spirit within you gives a tug, prompting you to return to Me. As you become increasingly attuned to My Presence, the length of rope on your soul's Anchor is shortened. You wander only a short distance before feeling that inner tug - telling you to return to your true Center in Me.
