Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea in the comfort of the Lord: "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice." Ephesians 4:31
Learn to listen to Me even while you are listening to other people. As they open their souls to your scrutiny, you are on holy ground. You need the help of My Spirit to respond appropriately. Ask Him to think through you, live through you, love through you. My own Being is alive within you in the Person of the Holy Spirit. If you respond to others' needs through your unaided thought processes, you offer them dry crumbs. When the Spirit empowers your listening and speaking, My streams of living water flow through you to other people. Be a channel of My Love, Joy, and Peace by listening to Me as you listen to others.

LEARN TO RELATE.....
Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord: "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice." Ephesians 4:31
Learn to relate to others through My Love rather than yours. Your human love is ever so limited, full of flaws and manipulation. My loving Presence, which always enfolds you, is available to bless others as well as you. Instead of trying harder to help people through your own paltry supplies, become aware of My unlimited supply, which is accessible to you continually. Let My Love envelop your outreach to other people.
Many of My precious children have fallen prey to burnout. A better description of their condition might be "drainout." Countless interactions with needy people have drained them, without their conscious awareness. You are among these weary ones, who are like wounded soldiers needing R&R. Take time to rest in the Love-Light of My Presence. I will gradually restore to you the energy that you have lost over the years. Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and you will find rest for your souls.

LOOK TO ME CONTINUALLY....
Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord: "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice." Ephesians 4:31
Look to Me continually for help, comfort, and companionship. Because I am always by your side, the briefest glance can connect you with Me. When you look to Me for help, it flows freely from My Presence. This recognition of your need for Me, in small matters as well as in large ones, keeps you spiritually alive.
When you need comfort, I love to enfold you in My arms. I enable you not only to feel comforted, but also to be a channel through whom I comfort others. Thus you are doubly blessed, because a living channel absorbs some of whatever flows through it.
My constant Companionship is the piece de resistance; the summit of salvation blessings. No matter what losses you experience in your life, no one can take away this glorious gift.

TRUST ME ENOUGH....
Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord: "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice." Ephesians 4:31
Trust Me enough to let things happen without striving to predict or control them. Relax, and refresh yourself in the Light of My everlasting Love. My Love-Light never dims, yet you are often unaware of My radiant Presence. When you project yourself into the future, rehearsing what you'll do or say, you are seeking to be self-sufficient: to be adequate without My help. This is a subtle sin - so common that it usually slips by unnoticed.
The alternative is to live fully in the present, depending on Me each moment. Rather than fearing your inadequacy, rejoice in My abundant supply. Train your mind to seek My help continually, even when you feel competent to handle something by yourself. Don't divide your life into things you can do yourself and things that require My help. Instead, learn to rely on Me in every situation. This discipline will enable you to enjoy your life more and to face each day confidently.

OPEN YOUR MIND AND HEART...
Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord: "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice." Ephesians 4:31
Open your mind and heart - your entire being - to receive My Love in full measure. SO many of My children limp through their lives starved for Love, because they haven't learned the art of receiving. This is essentially, and act of faith: believing that I love you with boundless, everlasting Love. The art of receiving is also a disciple: training your mind to trust Me, coming close to Me with confidence.
Remember that the evil one is the father of lies. Learn to recognize his deceptive intrusions into your thoughts. One of his favorite deceptions is to undermine your confidence in My unconditional Love. Fight back against these lies! Do not let them go unchallenged. Resist the devil in My Name, and he will slink away from you. Draw near to Me, and My Presence will envelop you in Love.

Overflowing Fruit
Come, sit and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord: "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice." Ephesians 4:31
I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. John 15:16
During the spring and summer, I admire the fruit growing in our neighbor’s yard. Their cultivated vines climb a shared fence to produce large bunches of grapes. Branches dotted with purple plums and plump oranges dangle just within our reach.
Although we don’t till the soil, plant the seeds, or water and weed the garden, the couple next door shares their bounty with us. They take responsibility for nurturing their crops and allow us to delight in a portion of their harvest.
The fruit of the Spirit changes us so we can impact the lives of those around us.
The produce from the trees and vines on the other side of our fence reminds me of another harvest that benefits me and the people God places in my life. That harvest is the fruit of the Spirit.
Christ-followers are commissioned to claim the benefits of living by the power of the Holy Spirit (Gal. 5:16–21). As God’s seeds of truth flourish in our hearts, the Spirit produces an increase in our ability to express “love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control” (vv. 22–23).
Once we surrender our lives to Jesus, we no longer have to be controlled by our self-centered inclinations (v. 24). Over time, the Holy Spirit can change our thinking, our attitudes, and our actions. As we grow and mature in Christ, we can have the added joy of loving our neighbors by sharing the benefits of His generous harvest.

I SPEAK TO YOU FROM.....
Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord: "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice." Ephesians 4:31
I speak to you from the depths of your being. Here Me saying soothing words of Peace, assuring you of My Love. Do not listen to voices of accusation, for they are not from Me. I speak to you in love-tones, lifting you up. My Spirit convicts cleanly, without crushing words of shame. Let the Spirit take charge of your mind, combing out tangles of deception. Be transformed by the truth that I live within you.
The Light of My Presence is shining upon you, in benedictions of Peace. Let My Light shine in you; don't dim it with worries or fears. Holiness is letting Me live through you. Since I dwell in you, you are fully equipped to be holy. Pause before responding to people or situations, giving My Spirit space to act through you. Hasty words and actions leave no room for Me; this is atheistic living. I want to inhabit all your moments - gracing your thoughts, words, and behaviour.

Rest In My Radiant Presence
Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord: "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice." Ephesians 4:31
Rest In My Radiant Presence. The world around you seems to spin faster and faster, till everything is a blur. Yet there is a cushion of calm at the center of your life, where you live in union with Me. Return to this soothing Center as often as you can, for this is where you are energized: filled with My Love, Joy, and Peace.
The world is a needy place; do not go there for sustenance. Instead, come to Me. Learn to depend on Me alone, and your weakness will become saturated with My Power. When you find your completeness in Me, you can help other people without using them to meet your own needs. Live in the Light of My Presence, and your light will shine brightly into the lives of others.

What If.....
Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord: "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice." Ephesians 4:31
What if we lived in the absolute assurance of God’s love?
I had a conversation with a mom whose eldest daughter is 30 and has never had a boyfriend. She sat with her mom and tearfully said, “Why can’t I find anyone to love me? What’s wrong with me?”
I remember being the only one of my friends without a boyfriend and feeling that same hurt.
But here’s the thing I wish I had known then … I must process this hurt through the filter of God’s love, not the tangled pieces of my heart.
When I process things through my heart, the outcome is, “If God loves me so much, why would He let this happen?”
Instead, when I process things through the filter of God’s love, the outcome is, “God loves me so much, therefore, I can trust why He is allowing this to happen.”

Discovering God's Will
Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord: "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice." Ephesians 4:31
"Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is."
Ephesians 5:17
Before we can address the questions we have about God's specific will, we must look at how we are leading our lives in light of His revealed will. Take God's command that we walk in love. If, after a tough day, I snap at my family and take out my frustration on them in a hateful way, I'm obviously not living in God's will.
If I'm not obeying the revealed will of God, it isn't likely that I will receive further instruction on the specific choices I face in my life. That would be like asking for directions when I hold a road map in my hands
.
Once we've made a concentrated effort to know and follow God's revealed will, we can ask for His direction on the specifics in our life - those forks in the road. Fortunately, we can relax a little on knowing God's specific will for one simple reason - one many of us overlook. Discerning God's specific will is not a mystery game where He's trying to hold something back from us. Often we feel we must go through layers and layers, all the time wondering, "Will God really let me know about this?" when all along God is saying, "I'll show you." He is a God who loves us and wants us to find His will. We just need to have an open heart to His leading.

Moving Into A Better Measurement
Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord: "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice." Ephesians 4:31
“As the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you. Remain in My love.” John 15:9 (HCSB)
For a checklist-loving girl, there’s nothing quite as frustrating as feeling you’re getting nothing accomplished.
In fact, for much of my life, here’s how I processed my days: No check-marks. → No progress. → No worth.
I determined my value by what I produced. Consequently, I often bore the soul-crushing weight of my own disapproval. Times like:
When I used three-fourths of a day to feed and care for an infant without even accomplishing a shower.
When my toddlers dismantled the house faster than I could put it back together.
When I moved to a new place and the phone stopped ringing and my calendar remained empty.
Those periods were a struggle because when I didn’t do enough, I thought I wasn’t enough. I let my work define my value. Maybe you’ve been there too.
Young mom, you love your children madly, but life’s joy drains out of the holes you poke in yourself.
Single friend, you know there are upsides to singleness, but it feels like a trap that keeps you from building the future you’d prefer.
Newbie neighbor, instead of seeing new possibilities in your new home, you feel stuck in grieving the old one.
Sick sister, your body needs rest, but you feel like a failure as you lay on your bed.
But the saddest part happens when we start believing God views us with the same disappointment we view ourselves. After all, we even express our spiritual life in terms like “faith walk” and “journey,” which implies forward movement. We start to view Him as the One pushing us along and measuring us by our work — a divine Project Manager in the sky. That belief left me wrongly feeling like His laborer instead of His daughter … His friend.
In today’s key verse, John, the beloved disciple, records this instruction from Jesus: “As the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you. Remain in My love” (John 15:9). In this verse, the word “remain” can also be translated dwell or abide. Reflecting on these definitions made me realize how wrong my beliefs had been.
We want to move on, but Jesus invites us to move in.
Remain, abide and dwell — these words revealed how I evaluated progress and growth, and they helped me understand God’s approval in a new way. We don’t have to produce or create forward movement to earn God’s love. Instead, He asks us to move into … to settle … to be still in His love.
This idea changes everything. As a wise friend once told me, “You don’t work for God’s love. You rest in His love.”
God doesn’t measure our worth by our works. He establishes our worth by His love. Although I tend to calculate value by external things, God gauges value by internal things, and love is an internal work.
I invite you with the same invitation God extends to each of us: Remain in God’s love.
Move in all the pieces of your life. Every thought, emotion, gift and flaw.
Stay awhile.
As we say in the South, “Sit a spell!” In other words, dwell and bask in the love of God. You are worthy because of God’s gift of love, not the checks on your to-do list.

When you find your completeness in Me, you can help other people without using them to meet you own needs. Live in the Light of My Presence, and your light will shine brightly into the lives of others.

The First Fruits....
Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord: "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice." Ephesians 4:31
The fruit we bear in our lives is the evidence of God's Spirit in us. It's not that we are perfect by any means. But on a consistent basis are we demonstrating what Galatians 5 lists as fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control?
The way we treat others, speak to others, demonstrate patience with others, notice others and honor others will either validate or violate what we say we believe. The very best sermons aren't those preached from a stage but rather those lived out in everyday life.
What a needed reminder for us all today.

1 Corinthians, 13
Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord: "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away, with all malice." Ephesians 4:31
1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Letting Go
Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord: "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and all evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice." Ephesians 4:31
This is a time in your life to let go of loved ones, possessions, of control. In order to let go of something that is precious to you, you need to rest in My Presence where you are complete. Take time to bask in the Light of My Love. As you relax more and more, your grasping hand gradually opens up, releasing your prized possession into My care.
You can feel secure, even in the midst of cataclysmic changes, through awareness of My continual Presence. The One who never leaves you is the One who never changes: I am the same yesterday, today, and forever. As you release more and more things into My care, remember that I never let go of your hand. Herein lies your security, which no one and no circumstance can take from you.

Little Acts Of Love
Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord: "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice." Ephesians 4:31
" . . . ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another." 1 Thessalonians 4:9
True love reveals itself not so much in a great outward show of emotion, but rather in a thousand small acts of devotion and consideration. It is by these that we manifest our true colors and display our real attitudes.
When I was a little boy about three and a half years of age, I knew that my father was extremely fond of black walnuts. We did not often get them, so when I found one upon the street I was delighted! My first thought was to have my mother crack it so that I could eat it myself, but then my great love for father took over. I saved it until he came home that evening. It was my custom to wait until I saw him come around the corner and then - rush to meet him. I would throw my small arms around his one leg and thus, standing on his foot, would be swung along with his powerful stride until we got home. All the way he would be patting my head and smiling and talking to me. This night I presented him with the walnut and said, "Here, Papa, I've been saving it all day - just for you!" I thought it very strange that he did not want to crack it and eat it, and it was not until 30 years later that I found it again after he had left us for the heavenly mansions. It was in a place by itself in his desk. Mother told me he considered it such a deep token of my affection for him that he wanted to keep it as a memento.
Don't delay performing even the smallest act of love today; believe me, it is sorely needed and will be much appreciated. What is more, it will be richly rewarded by the Lord. Do not keep the alabaster boxes of your love and tenderness sealed up until your friends and loved ones are dead. Fill their lives with sweetness now. By the power of the Holy Spirit, let us exchange our self-centered attitudes for heartfelt words and deeds which will manifest that we love our family and friends "with a pure heart fervently"! (1 Peter 1:22).

1. Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
