WALK PEACEFULLY WITH ME...

Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea in the comfort of the Lord:  "Let all bitterness, and wrath,  and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice."  Ephesians 4:31

Walk peacefully with me through this day.  You are wondering how you will cope with all that is expected of you.  You must traverse this day like any other:one step at a time.  Instead of mentally rehearsing how you will do this or that, keep your mind on My Presence and on taking the next step.  The more demanding your day, the more help you can expect from Me.  This is a training opportunity, since I designed  for deep dependence on your Shepherd King.  Challenging times wake you up and simplify your awareness of needing My help.

When you don't know what todo, wait while I open the way before you.  Trust that I know what I'm doing, and be ready to follow My lead.  I will give strength to you, and I will bless you with Peace.

My Thoughts.....

Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord:  "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from me, with all malice."  Ephesians  4:31

MY THOUGHTS are not your thoughts; neither are your ways My ways. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways and thoughts higher than yours. Remember who I AM when you spend time with me. Marvel at the wonder of being able to commune with the King of the universe - any time, any place. Never take this amazing privilege for granted!

Though I am vastly higher and greater than you, I am training you to think My thoughts. As you spend time in My Presence, My thoughts gradually form in your mind. My Spirit is the Director of this process. Sometimes He brings Bible verses to mind. Sometimes He enables you to hear Me "speak" directly to you. These communications strengthen you and prepare you for whatever is before you on your life-path. Take time to listen to My voice. Through your sacrifice of precious time, I bless you far more than you dare to ask.

This Is The Day That I Have Made!

Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord:  "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice."  Ephesians  4:31

THIS IS THE DAY THAT I HAVE MADE! As you rejoice in this day of life, it will yield up to you precious gifts and beneficial training. Walk with me along the high road of thanksgiving, and you will find all the delights I have made ready for you.

To protect your thankfulness, you must remember that you reside in a fallen world, where blessings and sorrows intermingle freely. A constant focus on adversity defeats many Christians. They walk through a day that is brimming with beauty and brightness, seeing only the grayness of their thoughts. Neglecting the practice of giving thanks has darkened their minds. How precious are My children who remember to thank Me at all times. They can walk through the darkest days with Joy in their hearts because they know that the Light of My Presence is still shining on them. Rejoice in this day that I have made, for I am your steadfast Companion.

Every Time Something Thwarts Your Plans....

Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord:  "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice."  Ephesians  4:31

EVERY TIME SOMETHING THWARTS YOUR PLANS or desires, use that as a reminder to communicate with Me. This practice has several benefits. The first is obvious: Talking with Me blesses you and strengthens our relationship. Another benefit is that disappointments, instead of dragging you down, are transformed into opportunities for good. This transformation removes the sting from difficult circumstances, making it possible to be joyful in the midst of adversity.

Begin by practicing this discipline in all the little disappointments of daily life. It is often these minor setbacks that draw you away from My Presence. When you reframe setbacks as opportunities, you find that you gain much more than you have lost. It is only after much training that you can accept major losses in this positive way. But it is possible to attain the perspective of the apostle Paul, who wrote: Compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus, I consider everything I once treasured to be as insignificant as rubbish.

Practice Makes Perfect

Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord:  "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice."  Ephesians  4:31

" . . . when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray."                                                                                                                                        Matthew  6:6

After the disciples had witnessed the prayer life of Jesus, they came to Him and said, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples"  (Luke  11:1).  They did not say,  "Teach us to preach,"  or  "Teach us to sing."  We all admit that instruction and training and practice are essential in making good preachers and singers.  But who ever heard of "training" people to pray?  We have schools of music and courses which offer instruction in song leading and singing.  We have seminaries to teach young men how to become preachers and missionaries.  They offer courses in Greek and Hebrew, homiletics and church history, etc. But did you ever hear of a course in Bible school or seminary devoted exclusively to teach men how to pray?

Before the minister delivers his sermon or the soloist sings, he has practiced and practiced for hours.  How much do you practice effectual praying?

A British soldier one night was caught creeping stealthily back to his quarters from a nearby woods.  He was immediately hauled before his commanding officer for an explanation.  The man pleaded that he had gone into the woods to pray; that was his only defense.  "Have you been in the habit of spending hours in private prayer?  growled the officer.  "Yes, sir."  "Then down on your knees and pray now!"  he roared.  "You never needed it so much."  Expecting immediate death, the soldier knelt and poured out his soul in prayer that for eloquence could have been inspired only by the power of the Holy Spirit.  "You may go," said the officer when he had finished.  "I believe your story.  If you hadn't drilled often you couldn't have done so well at review."
