I LOVE YOU....

Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord:  "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice."  Ephesians 4:31

I love you with an everlasting love, which flows out from the depths of eternity.  Before you were born, I knew you.  Ponder the awesome mystery of a Love that encompasses you from before birth to beyond the grave.

Modern man has lost the perspective of eternity.  To distract himself from the gaping jaws of death, he engages in ceaseless activity and amusement.  The practice of being still in My Presence is almost a lost art, yet it is this very stillness that enables you to experience My eternal Love.  You need the certainty of my loving Presence in order to weather the storms of life.  During the times of severe testing, even the best theology can fail you if it isn't accompanied by experiential knowledge of Me.  The ultimate protection against sinking during life's storms is devoting time to develop your friendship with Me.

I AM YOURS FOR ALL ETERNITY...

Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord: "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice."  Ephesians 4:31

I am yours for all eternity.  I am the Alpha and the Omega:  the One who is and was and is to come.  The world you inhabit is a place of constant changes - more than your mind can absorb without going into shock.  Even the body you inhabit is changing relentlessly, in spite of modern science's attempts to prolong youth and life indefinitely.  I, however, am the same, yesterday, and today and forever.

Because I never change, your relationship with Me provides a rock-solid foundation for your life.  I will never leave your side.  When you move on from this life to the next, My Presence beside you will shine brighter with each step.  You have nothing to fear, because I am with you for all time and throughout eternity.

Road Signs

Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord:  "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice."  Ephesians  4:31

" . . . therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them WARNING from me."  Ezekiel 3:17

Wherever and whenever the word "warning" appears, it is a signal to take notice and take care.  You are notified of a danger, and if you ignore the warning and evil befalls you, no one else but you is to blame. Warning - air brakes is written on the rear of heavy trucks.  Stay far enough behind!  Warning - high tension wires appears on the electric poles.  Keep away!  Warning - this bridge not safe!  Warning - this water unsafe for drinking!  And then there are the various road signs warning us of dangers which lie ahead. In many areas, before a driver's license is issued the applicant must be able to identify these various signs by their shape.  We have all the various shapes and designs which warn us:  SLOW, STEEP HILL AHEAD, SHARP CURVE, SPEED 25 MILES, DO NOT PASS, YIELD RIGHT OF WAY, and STOP.  These signs are for our safety, and to ignore them is to invite disaster.  Many cities issue a booklet on traffic laws and require drivers to become thoroughly familiar with its various provisions.  All signs should be heeded even if some are less important than others.  Some are so obviously TRUE that we smile.  Touring along, we saw a sign - SLOW MEN WORKING.  We saw the men and murmured - How true!  We saw another - equally prophetic - SLOW REPAIRS AHEAD.

We are all travelers to eternity on the road of life.  The Lord has given us in the Bible the road signs to warn us of dangers and show us the right way.  One signs says - TO HEAVEN this way, another says - TO HELL this way.  You are being fairly warned.  Once having started on the way to Heaven by taking Jesus as Lord and Saviour, He will guide by His Word and counsel.  Pay close attention to the signs in the Book and you will not only arrive safely but have a most enjoyable trip.  Read the warnings in the Bible!

Romans Eight Twenty-Eight

Come, sit, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the comfort of the Lord:  "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice."  Ephesians  4:31

". . .  all things work together for good to them that love God."   Romans  8:28

Fanny Crosby in her autobiography comments concerning the doctor who unwittingly caused her blindness as follows:  "I have heard that this physician never ceased expressing his regret at the occurrence; and that it was one of the sorrows of his life.  But if I could meet him now, I would say,  "Thank you, thank you, over and over again for making me blind.' . . .  Although it may have been a blunder on the physician's part, it was no mistake on God's.  I verily believe it was his intention that I should live my days in physical darkness, so as to be better prepared to sing His praises and incite other to do so."  Thus by a doctor's apparent mistake, God gave to the Church the wonderful heritage of a blind Fanny Crosby who, with her increased spiritual insight, was able to write thousands of enduring hymns.

A visitor once went to see an old lady who had very few earthly possessions - just a bed, an old chair, a table, a stool, and cupboard.  After a little while the guest asked,  "Do you never feel like murmuring at your difficult lot?"  "Well, sometimes satan does tempt me to complain, but then I just ask the Lord to put me into my easy chair, and to keep me quiet."  The visitor looked around to see what she could mean, but all he saw was the hard stool and the broken armchair.  "I don't see any easy place for you to sit," he said.  "No, you misunderstand me,"  said the precious old saint.  "My easy chair is Romans 8:28.  It is always close by. When I need it the Lord just sets me into it, and I am at rest and say to satan,  'Now, you be quiet!'"

Someone has said that in eternity we will probably thank God more the for difficulties of this earthly life than for some of the experiences that we now consider to be pleasant and desirable.

Stop sitting on the edge of the stool of worry; go and relax in the restful rocker of Romans 8:28
